Get Involved, Stay Involved

Our public schools need your – and everyone’s – energy, support and determination. Together we can increase student achievement.

Get Involved in Your Local School. Join your PTA. Volunteer to serve on your Local School Restructuring Team (LSRT). Volunteer in the classroom. You do not need to be a parent or guardian of a student to join the PTA. Also, each LSRT has one community member.

Join the Local Planning Teams for the Parent Resource Centers in Wards 1, 7 and 8. The Parent Resource Centers will support parents' and guardians' work with their children and the schools. Each of these wards is currently in the process of collecting nominations for their Local Planning Team.

Be Informed, Give Advice, Help Think Through Education Ideas. Regular progress will be reported online. You can also engage in conversation with the Mayor’s education team and your neighbors, or submit your ideas and questions online.
